Beautiful location for concerts and events
This church, built between 1668-1670 served the inhabitants of the newly built outer circles of the canals. The basic design of city architect Daniël Stalpaert provoked some to call the church a 'preach barn'. Plans to rebuild the wooden church into a stone one were never completed, so to this day the Amstel Church is still a wooden church. Nowadays, one can enjoy concerts in this church. The 'Amstelveld' (Amstel Square) around the church is a charming square that is used for a weekly market. Children and adults love to play soccer here. The church is only open for concerts and private events.
